I loved this place, it reminded me of home. It was super hospitable, and we were immediately greeted. Service was fantastic, the food was great (cheaper, but the food kind. Still made well, and love is an ingredient). It's more of a diner spot, and the staff seemed to really enjoy working with each other. It's just really nice and welcoming, and I will definitely be coming back.

Best fried chicken ever! We purchased the 7 piece bucket plus a side of collards and both are amazingly delicious. Service is excellent! The only thing missing is their beer and wine, but that is a county or city issue and not their fault.

It was a very busy morning. Our server, Taylor took our drink orders and alerted us that they were short staffed in the kitchen. She asked us if the wait would be ok. That is service excellence! The food was definitely worth the wait.

Service was good. Food was average I would probably eat there again. The friends I ate with enjoyed their food. So overall good but not anything spectacular.

This is the closest you'll get to eating in someone's home -- the menu is filled with classic, down-home American dishes. Breakfast is served all day, the lunch specials are very reasonably priced, and there are daily dinner specials including the ever-popular chicken fried steak, hamburger steak, meatloaf, and grilled chicken. Desserts are always changing, so you may or may not have the same choices on repeat visits. But, I liked that it was not always the same 3 options you might find at other places. The staff is very friendly. I visited about twice a week -- sometimes more -- to sit at the counter, have some coffee, and most of the time order breakfast. It's a hoot to just watch the servers interact with each other and their regulars. I've told them before, "It's like dinner and a show!" I don't have a favorite server -- they're all wonderful -- but I will tell you to watch out for Cathy! She doesn't take any lip off anyone, she gives as good as she gets, and she's alway quick with a comeback. BUT! She's really a softie, so don't let her fool you! I love Kinfolks. Our stay in Nacogdoches was only for 5 months, I definitely miss it, and it is the standard by which I measure all other diners.
